Taekwondo, the Korean art of self-defence, was first introduced to Canada in 1964 by Grand Master Chong Lee, 9th Dan, right here in Montreal. We have students from all of Montreal's area in addition to students coming all the way from Laval and Longueuil. Since then, its popularity has grown steadily and has spread throughout Canada and many other countries.
Since his beginnings, 45 years ago, Grand Master Lee has trained more people in the sport than anyone else in Canada. Taekwondo is not only a martial art but also a well developed and easily accessible sport. Beyond learning self-defence techniques, practicing adults will build, maintain or regain physical fitness by increasing physical ability, flexibility and endurance.
