HouseMaster opened it doors in Sherwood Park back in 1994 and has conducted over 50,000 home inspections. In 2012, HouseMaster was acquired by Paul Dolynny, who also owned House Guard Home inspections and the two companies were then merged. This created one of the largest professional home inspections companies Alberta had ever seen!

All HouseMaster Team Members hold a valid Home Inspector license from Service Alberta and adhere the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics as defined by CAHPI (Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors) and adopted by Service Alberta.

In addition, they must remain members in good standing of InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) and complete a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education each year to retain employment.Further, they all must be members in good standing with NIBI (National Institution of Building Inspectors) which requires an annual re-certification exam with a passing mark of 90% or more.

One of the most common questions we get is, "What gets checked?". The simplest answer is that your inspector will inspect everything that he can see and safely access. That means that any items that may be concealed behind walls, ceilings, flooring, occupant storage, or furniture may not be inspected.
