Brant Aero was founded in 1972 as an aircraft maintenance company by James T. Field, known to his colleagues and customers alike as Terry. Terry chose Brantford as the company's base of operations for a compelling reason: it is right in the heart of a world-class economic zone. His father, James H. Field, and his brothers, Pat and Bud Field, soon joined him, adding avionics sales and service to Brant Aero's capabilities.
