Astigmatism
Report
If you experience a distortion or blurring of images at all distances, then you may have astigmatism. Even if your vision is fairly sharp; symptoms of headaches, fatigue, squinting and eye discomfort or irritation may indicate a slight degree of astigmatism. Astigmatism is diagnosed in the course of a comprehensive eye examination.
Cataracts
Report
A cataract is a clouding of the lens that impedes the lens ability to properly focus light onto the retina, resulting in loss of vision. If your cataract develops to a point that daily activities are affected, then you will be referred to an ophthalmologist so a cataract extraction can be done. Before the surgery, you and the ophthalmologist will decide on what type of post-cataract vision work best for your daily activities.
Computer Vision Syndrome
Report
Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is a condition that arises from the eyes focusing on a computer or digital device for prolonged, uninterrupted periods of time. The eye muscles are unable to recover or relax from that constant tension required to maintain focus on a computer or any other close objects.
Dry Eye
Report
Dry eyes can occur if there is not enough tears being produced, particularly in the aqueous layer of the tear film. It can also occur when there isn't a sufficient oily layer, thus the tears will evaporate more quickly. Dry eye symptoms can also occur from exposure to environmental conditions, as well as medications like antihistamines, oral contraceptives or anti-depressants.
