Sex addiction is diverse and so are the people that suffer from it. Sexual behaviours become addictive when they become overwhelming and lead to problems in our daily lives. These behaviours can be challenging to acknowledge because they are so often associated with shame and guilt, especially when they do not align with our values and beliefs.

You may have just recently discovered your partner accessing pornography, holding sexual secrets from you and/or having affairs. As well, you could have been holding on to the unsettling feelings associated with your partner's sexual acting out for some time but are now willing to seek help.

The Sexual Addiction Screening Test (SAST) is designed to assist in the assessment of sexually compulsive or "addictive" behavior. Developed in cooperation with hospitals, treatment programs, private therapists and community groups, the SAST provides a profile of responses which help to discriminate between addictive and non-addictive behavior.
