Large Animal Medical
Our large animal medical services cover comprehensive healthcare for dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, goats, swine, and camelids. Our experienced veterinarians offer preventive care programs and urgent treatment for production animals.
Equine Surgical
Equine surgical services include castration, wound repair, and emergency procedures for horses and donkeys. Our mobile clinic handles on-farm surgeries while complex cases may be referred to specialists. We emphasize proper post-operative care and client education for optimal recovery.

Veterinarian
Founder of North Simcoe Veterinary Services with over 40 years of experience, Dr. Rumney specializes in large animal care and continues his family's multi-generational veterinary legacy dating back to 1939.
Dr. Edie Haberfellner
Veterinarian
Joining the practice in 1987, Dr. Haberfellner brings extensive experience in small animal medicine and surgery. She co-leads the clinic with Dr. Rumney following their marriage in 1989 and continues to develop specialized expertise.

Registered Veterinary Technician
Certified specialist in laser therapy with advanced training in non-invasive pain management techniques. Emma leads our rehabilitation programs and provides expert care for post-operative and chronic condition patients.

What types of animals do you treat?
We treat all sizes from small pets (cats, dogs, select exotics) to large animals (cattle, sheep, goats, swine) and equines at our two Midland locations.
Are you available for emergencies after hours?
Large animal emergencies are available 24/7 with pre-arrival preparation required. Small animal emergencies after hours should contact Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic.
Do you offer payment plans?
We require payment at service time but offer senior citizen discounts, rescue group rates, and multi-pet discounts. Financing options are not currently available.
What are your vaccination protocols?
Customized vaccination programs depend on animal type, environment, and exposure risks. Our veterinarians develop individualized plans during wellness exams.
Can I be present during my pet's treatment?
Our open hospital policy allows owners to be present for routine care and minor procedures. Large animal owners may accompany their animals during medical procedures.

I go here for my dogs care. Great people. Doctor Po of midland. Board y dog also when necessary. Not taking new customers at this time due to covid and this has caused them to be super busy

Wonderful vet service. Everyone was so nice and the vet took the time to explain to me why our farm dog has been having such trouble with his ears and was very detailed with instructions to treat him. Everyone was so kind and patient with our rather large German Shephard who has quite a bit of anxiety when at the vet. Very practical treatment. Thank you so much, we are so grateful you took such good care of him today.
